H200 hub cannot format SD cards
Hi,
I have tried various SD cards from SanDisk, HP and Kingston all meeting the recc specifications. I have also downloaded and used the tool to test if the cards are real. All time out at 70% when formatting in the hub section of the tapo app.
'Failed to format your SD Card please try again later'
After shelling out $500 for a 4 camera set they seem redundant if I can't record anything.
Why can't tapo specify the exact brand and model of card to use instead of me paying for SD cards that I cannot return for a refund since they are working fine, just not in this hub?

Hi,
Thank you for the case report, and please help confirm the following information for further analysis.
1. Please insert an SD card into the Tapo H200, go to the Tapo H200's Device Settings page on the Tapo app, tap Reboot to reboot the hub, and check if you can format the SD card via the Tapo app.
2. Can I have the model number, capacity, and format of these SD cards you used on the H200? Please refer to the link below to use the H2testw tool to test if the SD cards are fake, and send me a picture of the test result.
How to Verify Fake Micro SD Cards?
3. If the problem remains after Step 1 and the SD card is not a fake one, please enable the Diagnostics option on the Tapo H200's Device Settings page, reproduce the issue on the Tapo app, go to Me>Help & Feedback>Hubs>Feedback>select your hub, tap Next >type forum ID 639306, select Add System logs and Send App Log>tap Send Feedback to send us the log files. We will analyze the log files to try to locate the issue.
Please remind me via a private message after you send the app log.
Best Regards

I had the same issue with an SD card that worked fine before a firmware update.
I have managed to resolve it by sticking it into a Tapo Camera and formatting it, then sticking it back into the hub, and formatting again.
Then had ot go through all the set up of ensuring recording is done etc.

Hi I have screenshot of the tests and SD card model details but the tapo app doesn't allow formatting of SD card with diagnostics enabled.
I completed steps 1 and 2 but 3 is not possible. It asked me to disable diagnostics to initialise SD card. So I went to disable but then left enabled and it did allow me to attempt format and get same error.
Given the amount of time spent, including these tests etc, maybe I should just cut my losses and take the cameras back to the store for a refund? I spent $500 to increase my security not my spare time workload.
Took half a day to put them up and have spent hours trying to get 'non fake' SD cards recognised.
I reckon I either have a faulty hub or there is an issue with the firmware update.

I would recommend returning the hub.
The final result was the card mounting function was faulty.
Got a replacement hub and all the 'faulty or fake' SD cards magically started working.
Tapo support wasn"t very helpful at all so had to take matters into my own hands.
