Another bitrate thread. Is there any fix coming? C310
Just before Christmas I decided to test some Tapo cameras, added a C310 and a C100.
Both setup as wireless at the moment.
On the C100 i get about 158KB/s running 720. The image quality is about what I expected,
but with the 310 running 4K i only get 15-20KB/s and really bad image quality.
KB/s don't seem to change much when toggling between resolutions on any of the cameras.
I have another c310 and two c325wb ready to install but seeing what I'm seeing now I'm wondering if I should just return them.
the 310 is pretty useless with this quality.
Are there any known fix, or know solutions coming to fix this?
I like the cameras so I really would like this to work.

Hi,
Currently, the Tapo cameras support up to 4 simultaneous video streams (two mainstreams with high video quality + two substreams with low video quality), and if the camera has subscribed to the Tapo Care service, it will occupy a mainstream.
The picture of the Tapo C310 looks like you are streaming the camera via the substream, that's why I hope you can reboot the camera, ensure no other device is streaming the camera, and then check if you can stream the camera with high-quality images. If there are no other devices that stream the camera, please feel free to let me know.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee
Ahh, we have the solution!
The quality dropped after I payed for the Tapo Care premium, didn't connect that this could have anything to do with this.
But I have 1 stream going to Home Assistant, so if Tapo care is using on there just isn't any left.
Didn't know that's this was a thing! So I need to unsubscribe to Tape Care Premium then I guess.

@Tormodnt btw. I'm sure the c310 was way better when I just had installed it.
I've tried remote restart, nothing gets better, I've done remote restart of Wi-Fi, nothing gets better.
(I'm on holiday so only can do remote stuff)

Hi,
On the camera's Device Settings>Video & Display>Video Quality page, have you selected 2K? If not, please select the best quality option.
Ensure only your phone is streaming the camera and check if the video quality will be better. You can reboot the camera first, then stream the camera with your phone, and check if the video quality is good.

The camera has been rebooted.
The router has been rebooted.
All this was done before posting here.

Btw. The c100 and c310 Are both on the same wifi, the c100 is even furter away (and inside behind walls) from the Wi-Fi access point so the c310 should have better opportunities
I just need to know if I'm about to return 6 Tapo cameras or if there is something to do with this. Is either getting cameras from a different manufacturer or finding a solution, and I have this week to figure it out before I would have to do the returns

Hi,
If your camera subscribes to the Tapo Care service and the Home Assistant streams the camera via a mainstream, then you can stream the camera via sub-stream only on the Tapo app.
About the Tapo Care service cancellation, the below link may help you.

If you want to change the applied cameras to the Tapo Care plan, please refer to the instructions below.
