Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.11

Hi,

I'm attempting to use third party software to stream the Tapo C200 video stream, I have disabled Tapo care, and taken out the MicroSD card from the C200.

I followed this guide: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/2680/

In VLC I have tried the following addresses and all of them have failed:

rtsp://username:password@192.168.50.191:554/stream1

rtsp://username:password@192.168.50.191:554/video.h264

rtsp://username:password@192.168.50.191:554/11

rtsp://username:password@192.168.50.191:554/stream11

rtsp://192.168.50.191/stream/1

rtsp://192.168.50.191:554/stream1

I have tried Homebridge and that failed with error message “Snapshot error”

I have tried Scrypted and that failed with error message “Snapshot Failed”.

Nothing seems to work, it doesn't appear to work with third party software or I am doing something wrong?

  @Skepticalme

Hi,
About the reported phenomenon, please help confirm the following information.

1. Please send me the MAC address of your Tapo C200 via a private message.

2. Is this the first time you have tried to stream the camera via the RTSP protocol? If not, did the RTSP stream work fine?

3. Please describe your network diagram, such as the internet cable--wireless router)))(((Tapo camera, phones, ONVIF devices, etc.
Please confirm if the ONVIF device is in the same network as the Tapo Cam, and whether they are connected to the same router's Wi-Fi.

4. Can I have a picture of the error message showing on the Homebridge/Scrypted when setting up the RTSP stream?

Best Regards

This was the first time I've tried the RTSP protocol.

Router: ASUS RT-AX88U WRT-Merlin which connects via Ethernet to a 1Gbps fibre connection.

Mac mini (Homebridge/Scrypted) Sonoma 14.2.1 Ethernet connection.

Tapo C200 WiFi 2.4Ghz

iPhone 14 iOS 17.2.1 WiFi 5Ghz (Tapo App)

I don’t have any other cameras, I have some lights connected via Philips hue Bridge (Ethernet). I also have a Raspberry Pi 4 (Ethernet), and Ubuntu Computer (Ethernet), and a Windows 11 PC (Ethernet).

4. Can I have a picture of the error message showing on the Homebridge/Scrypted when setting up the RTSP stream?

Scrypted:

Scrypted:

After putting my password in again (I’m using the stream password, not the app password, and the password is just alphanumeric only).

@Skepticalme are you using special characters in the camera account password? I had the same problem and thanks to this comment (https://github.com/koush/scrypted/issues/1121#issuecomment-1779489069) I just resolved by setting a long password with only letters and numbers in the camera's Advanced Settings.
