Model: Tapo C520WS
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: V 1.2.5

Have just purchased the C520ws and was under the impression that power was supplied via the Cat5e connection... Have tried on a poe switch but the unit does not power up.

It only appears to work via the power connector and wireless streaming.

Do you have to have the power connector on and the Cat5e plugged in to be able to stream over the wired network.

Is it a true poe camera.?

Thanks for replies.

  @Paul_Ozzy

Hi,
The Tapo C520WS is not a POE camera, it can't be powered via an ethernet cable and needs to be powered by the power adapter.

Can you share the link that says the camera is a POE camera with us? If it's our official website, we will correct the information as soon as possible.

Best Regards
