Tapo C420 Camera Shows Wrong Date and Time
I just installed the two cameras and the hub of my C420S2 package. Everything is working fine except for the timestamp, which is very random! I have set the timezone correctly at GMT+8 so the time right now should be:
2024-02-09 14:32:00
But in both cameras it is showing:
2023-02-11 18:04:00
The wrong timestamp isn't even a valid one in terms of other timezones. Everything is up-to-date and my network is pretty flat.
ISP ONT -> Deco E4 Main Router -> Deco E4 Secondary Mesh Node
The H200 hub is connected to the Deco secondary mesh node thru wifi. No third party software involved.

Hi,
In this situation, it's recommended to check if the hub and the camera are connected to the internet successfully.
1) How about the LED status on the camera and the hub?
2) Do you have internet when connecting to the same Wi-Fi as the camera?
3) Can you control the camera remotely, such as using mobile data on your phone only, and check if you can control the camera?

Full disclosure, I am a network engineer so you can throw any in-depth technical troubleshooting at me. I'm 100% sure all three devices have Internet access.
1. Solid green on all devices.
2. All other non-Tapo devices are connected to the Internet whether they're connected to the Deco main router or the secondary node.
3. I can remotely control them from any other network, mobile Internet or from another house.
Let's jump right in to troubleshooting the connection of the hub to your NTP servers please.

@Solla-topee for some reason, the time got updated and automagically got fixed. Nothing changed in this network. Is this a common issue?

Hi,
This is not a common issue, typically, the camera&hub will sync time with the NTP server automatically when they have internet access. If your camera shows the correct date and time now, you can keep monitoring it and reply to us if you need any help.

I'm having the same issue on all my cameras "all of a sudden" as per the other post. It's 1 hour ahead and the timezones are correct and computers and everything in my house is 100% correct, even my routers and AP's.
I think there must be a better way of doing this "timezone" settings in the tapo cameras - to fix it now, I've set my timezone to UTC+1 amsterdam, but it's wrong becuase i'm in Cape Town.
