Very bad audio quality

Good morning, I recently purchased 3 C520WS cameras, a C320WS and a C100, all 5 have terrible audio quality, it seems as if there was an anti-noise filter, which attenuates too much what you want to hear. Conversations between people if they are not 3 meters from the cameras are incomprehensible, you can't even hear passing cars. They are installed in a mountain area where there is no background noise, why not be able to choose whether to deactivate this anti-noise filter? Previously I had 4 cameras from another brand, I could choose to completely turn off a noise filter in the settings. in that case you could hear background noise, but that was fine for me, conversations between people were clear and understandable even if they were more than 15 meters away. With Tapo this is not possible. I'm really disappointed by this.
What good is audio on a video camera if half the sentences are muffled and unintelligible?

@LoryBernooo the only way to resolve this problem is to start complaining to customer service about the sound. You need to go through the bells and whistles through customer support. They need to make a custom firmware for you to remove the sound filter. This is what I have done once the sound filter is removed the sound is very sensitive

@LoryBernooo I have custom firmware for the several comments. 520ws, c120, 246d, 460 4k camera battery operated. They gave me a custom firmware which removes the sound filter which makes the sound very sensitive. The way to do this is to start complaining to customer service about the sound they're going to ask you for sample of the sound. They're going to try at first of blame it on you you have to go through all the bells and whistles to get them to send you a custom firmware. The 520 WS they have a custom firmware already made cuz I have it.

All my tapo cameras have bad audio quality, comparing to an old iegeek IG20 its like night and day difference, background noise and voices can be clearly heard on the iegeek, the tapos just sound like there underwater with popping and farting.

I'm glad to hear this. Could you tell me the steps you took to contact support and have the firmware sent to you? I have 5 C520WS cameras (HW: 1.0) and 4 C320WS cameras (HW: 2.0). I used to have Amcrest ip4m cameras and could even hear crickets at night as if you were there, but with these it's impossible.

Incredible!!!
The sound is very poor quality, I only hear noise and when people talk, you can't understand anything.
Apparently it has to do with a sound filter that is enabled, and I need new firmware with it disabled.
I have consulted the forums, and hundreds of people have the same problem, and the final solution, has always been a firmware with the disabled sound filter.
I request assistance.
Thanks in advance
I want to thank you for your contact.
We don’t have a new FW yet to experience improvements.
Occasionally, users may experience lower audio quality than expected when using Tapo cameras. To better understand the cause and improve overall audio performance, we recommend following the troubleshooting steps below or collecting relevant data for further analysis.
1. Check the camera hardware Tapo
Make sure that the microphone and speaker openings of the camera are not obstructed by objects. If you are not sure of the microphone and speaker location, please refer to the camera user guide on our official website.
Restart the camera or press and hold the restart button for 10 seconds to restart and reconfigure it. This can help solve audio quality problems caused by unusual factors.
2. 2. Check the settings of the camera Tapo
Confirm that the volume of the microphone and speaker is high in the Tapo app (as shown in the figures below, using Tapo C225 as an example).
Make sure that the volume of the mobile device used to view the live view or camera playback is adjusted to an appropriate level.
Make sure that the camera is positioned in order to receive sound clearly and without obstructions. Avoid placing it indoors or near surfaces that can reflect sound.
Place a phone in the same position as the camera. Record a short video with the phone camera. Likewise, manually record a short video on the Tapo Camera Live View page. Compare the two videos to determine if there is noticeable background noise and whether the camera’s audio quality is affected by environmental factors.
4. 4. Important considerations for testing audio quality
Keep your mobile device away from the camera during audio testing. The ideal is to test in different environments. Being too close during a voice call can cause audio to return.
Make sure that the audio quality needs to be improved in both the Playback recordings and when you use the camera’s two-way conversation functionality. If so, download the recordings from the Playback page and use the screen recorder of the mobile device to record the video during the bidirectional conversation for further analysis.
Adjust the volume of the speaker or headset on your mobile device to see if the noise level changes with the volume adjustments.
If the audio quality of your tapo camera does not meet your expectations, you can also turn off the sound to solve the problem.
Thank you for your contact and the TP-Link brand preference
