Hi everyone,

Here is a challenge. I have two-way switch in my stairs, 1 downstairs 2nd upstairs. I want to change this switch for a Tapo Smart switch, but there is no ready solution for two-way switches.

so I came to idea: what if I will put smart switch S210 downstairs to switch on/off lights, and add S200D upstairs to connect it to the S210?

will it work as two-way switch or not?

or there is another ideas how to create two-way switch set with Tapo Smart devices so to keep two-way switch, but also add Remote control via Tapo app?

BR,

Paul

Yes. That's one solution.

Another solution to make it look more consistent: get two S210! One is connected to the phase (hot wire) and to the light fixture (L and Lout). The other S210 is not connected at all and acts as a trigger for the Smart Action that toggles the other S210.

And yet another solution is two S200D + a smart bulb...

@aroedl that is actually good idea! I did it and it works!

I set several automation scenarios and all was looking good! But after electricity drop in my area all automations stopped working and not reacting on actions anymore...

any idea why it may be so?

Can you post a screenshot of the automation screen?

Tapo app -> Intelligent -> Automations

Does the Tapo hub show a blue light?
