Model: Tapo C120
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.13

I am using the Tapo C120 with the Tapo app, this works great and notifications work as well.

Next, I would like to retrieve notifications about motion events from the device so I can hook up my domoticz home automation framework. I looked at using ONVIF, but I was not able to retrieve motion events.

Is there a way either by using ONVIF or a different protocol to retrieve motion events from the Tapo C120 device ?

Hi,
Please help confirm the following information for the reported case.
1. What app/program do you use to watch the camera via the ONVIF connection? Can you stream the camera proper on the app/program?

2. Can you receive the motion-detected notifications on the Tapo app without any issues?

Best Regards

Hi,

1. I am trying out an Onvif script to get events using an Onvif pullpoint: https://github.com/FalkTannhaeuser/python-onvif-zeep/blob/zeep/examples/events.py

2. Yes, the app itself works fine. I am trying to get events via my local network my home automation scripting.

Regards

Hi,
We don't have an Onvif script that we can provide you, and I can't ensure that if your Onvif script is correct. Usually, when you stream the camera on a third-party app via ONVIF connection, such as iSpy, you can configure the detection and alert settings on the iSpy app to receive notifications on it when the camera detects motions.
Best Regards
