Hello,

I recently bought tapo c510w  and installed it. After 3 days I started getting distortion at night. Looks like dust flying in wind, rain or swarm of flies.

Some info about all 3 nights:

First night I had some motion detection at 10 pm but it was just spider hanging from web and moving fabric in wind, nothing special.

Second night we had some rain so I got a lots of detections, but after that everything was ok.

On third night something started to fly around the camera. It looked like flying dust or rain. I thought it could be swarm of small flies so I turned night vision off and went to day vision. I waited for 40 minutes and then turned night vision back on. No dust no fake rain, just clear image.

I uploaded some videos of this so you can see it.

First encounter with flying particles.

After having night vision off for about 40 minutes.

After 20 minutes in night vision particles apppeared again, plus view after turning it off.

I need your help, Is it problem with camera? Should I return it?

I saw 2 post here about the same problem, but both went silent.

Thank you.

  @Brobin

Hi,
The reported phenomenon seems caused by too much humidity in the air, and there are similar posts(snow effect on night mode) that may help you in this case.
Best Regards

Hi,

Thanks for helping. Looks like its really just a fog.

I checked footage with night vision turned off and I could see it around the lamp in the distance.
