WPA3 PSK, SAE (CCMP) and TC82 not reconnecting after router restart

Model: TC82
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.21

I've recently upgraded my router to use WPA3 PSK, SAE (CCMP). When the router is rebooted the TC82 cameras do not always reconnect. One may and the other doesn't.

When I switch my camera into the less secure WPA2 PSK mode the cameras will reconnect.

I've tried this a few times and its consistent and not a one off. It looks like there is a bug in the way the camera handles reconnections when using WPA3 PSK, SAE (CCMP).

Can someone please assist?

Hi,
We understand that the Wi-Fi Alliance requires devices to support WPA3 to achieve Wi-Fi certification. However, Wi-Fi certification is not a strict requirement for a device to work. We are continuously working to improve our products, and the TC82 is planned to support the WPA3 encryption in the next firmware release. Please wait patiently, and you can pay attention to the firmware release notes on our official website to see the firmware that supports the WPA3 encryption.
Best Regards

Hi,
Currently, the TC82 supports WPA/WPA2-PSK security type and does not support WPA3-PSK. If your router supports the WPA2/WPA3-PSK security type, you can select this option for a try.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thank you for your message.

There appears to be some support as it will connect to WPA3-PSK SAE and reconnect some of the time. I'm surprised that a brand new camera doesn't support WPA3 yet as its been the new standard for over four years.

According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Protected_Access) the WiFi Alliance has required WPA3 support since 2020 to achieve WiFi Certification. Am I correct in thinking the cameras aren't WiFi certified?

I'm guessing that the camera's hardware supports WPA3 and maybe a firmware update can fully support WPA3. Are there any plans to update the firmware to support WPA3?

That the WPA2 PSK can't be changed without a full hardware reset and the lack of support for WPA3 its not great for a security camera. It would be great if both of these issues could be resolved with a firmware update.
