Recently, we have been alerted to an issue that Archer NX200 may fail to connect to the Internet when choosing 5G Only mode.

Workaround:

If your Archer NX200 cannot connect to the internet in 5G Only mode with your SIM provider, please go to Advanced > Network > Mobile WAN > Network Mode on the Web management page of NX200, select 5G/4G/3G, then save and reboot the router to check if it will connect to the internet.

  @Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin.

I have an Archer NX200 v2 5G  that refuses to connect to 5G even though there is FULL coverage in the area. Same simcard works in my phone and gets full signal to 5G.
In screen shot below you can see my coverage based on my providers data, which is VERY accurate if i compare what i get on my cellphone with 4G, 4G+ and 5G.

The NX200 is connected with external antennas pointing directly at the 5G Tower but still cannot connect and choosing 4G+ instead which has only half the signal strenght.

My current firmware is a beta build:

1.0.0 3.0.0 v60e0.0 Build 250429 Rel.66578n_Beta

I had my hope up that this would solve my issues with 5G, but no, still the same :(.

Any idea what it can be?

  @ThuSki

Hi, welcome to the community.

Did you install the beta firmware here: Archer NX200_V2_20250430 Supported xLAT

I hope you can switch back to the original 5G antennas and temporarily unplug the 5G external antennas.

On the web UI, if you manually search the 5G bands here, will it list any available bands?

By the way, could you please help me check the 5G bands on the mobile when using the same SIM card?

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/718966

For some Android devices, you can find it under Service Mode by dialing #0011# or ##4636##* and pressing the call button (it won't actually dial).

For iPhone, you can check the 5G bands via iPhone Field Test

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Thank you for your reply.

I downloaded an app to check the Band as you told me and i discovered that my phone is lying to me and also my provider...
It is NOT connected to 5G even if it says that in at the top with full coverage...

Thank you for your help, now i understand why NX200 doesnt connect to 5G.
