@NearlySociable Update: yes that was the problem. Once I reset my Smart WIFI the correct time appeared on my recordings so all is working fine. Sorry for the trouble. I will remember to reset my WIFI and check to make sure it is on the internet. Thanks.

Hi,
1. If you can't see the date & time displayed on the camera's video recordings, please go to the Tapo app > Camera's Device Settings > Video & Display > On-screen Display Info page to enable the Display Time Stamp feature.
2. If you are referring to others, please describe your problem in detail so I can better help you.
Best Regards

@NearlySociable The time is stamped on the recordings but it is the wrong time. For example, it made a recording showing 01:00 AM but the recording was in broad daylight. I did go to the display and insured that the time stamp was on but how do I adjust the time itself? Thanks.

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if the camera displays a wrong time.
Tapo Camera Shows Wrong Date and Time
Please confirm the following information if the problem remains.
1. What's your time zone?
2. On the Tapo app > camera's Live View page, are the date & time displayed correctly? If not, what date & time on the camera and what date & time on your phone?
3. Is the camera connected to a third-party program via RTSP/Onvif?
4. Can you control the camera remotely with the Tapo app?

@NearlySociable 1 My time zone is Manila, Philippines. 2 I do not see the time at all on live view except my phone time in the upper left corner. But on the view itself there is no time. The time on that upper left corner is correct as to my time zone. 3 I have no idea what RTSP/Onvif is. I only know the camera is connected to my Smart WIFI. On my phone the Smart connect says "Connected without internet". The Tapo works and shows the live view even without the internet but is that the reason for the time problem. Is the time set automatically via the internet? I guess this could be the problem? Thanks.

Hi,
Thank you for the update. The camera requires the internet to sync the date & time automatically. If your Wi-Fi has no internet connection, the camera may display an incorrect date & time.
It's glad to hear that you have solved the issue and you can enjoy the camera then.
Best Regards
