Tapo C510W – Audio Glitch at Lower Microphone Volume Levels
Hi TP-Link team and community,
I'm currently using a Tapo C510W outdoor camera and have run into a consistent issue with the audio functionality. The microphone only produces clear audio when the mic volume is set to the highest level (red zone). At any lower volume level, all I hear is glitchy or distorted static, making the audio unusable.
When the mic is at the highest volume, the sound is clearer, but it also picks up a lot of unwanted background noise. It seems like either the microphone is not sensitive enough at lower levels or some kind of noise reduction is interfering too aggressively.
I’ve tried:
Restarting the camera
Changing volume levels in the app
Monitoring from a different device and location
Ensuring strong Wi-Fi signal
No luck so far. The firmware is up to date, and I’m using the latest version of the Tapo app.
Is this a known issue with the C510W model? Any workarounds, setting changes, or firmware updates that could help?
Appreciate any advice or input. Thanks!
