Hello, recently I went for 3 days vacation, after leaving the house the camera was working normally, after the first day away from home the camera went offline, I thought someone robbed the house and cut the internet and was very anxious. After returning and entering the house the camera alarm worked as normal and I got the rich notification. Reason?

Hi, 
Please confirm the following information for the reported issue.
  1. What's the camera's LED status when you return to your house? Is the camera displayed online in the Tapo app after you enter the house?
  2. You can turn off the Wi-Fi and use mobile data on your phone, then check if the camera is displayed online in the Tapo app.
  3. Is your router always working during your vacation?

 

The Alarm feature works even if the camera has no internet connection. Usually, when the camera detects an event, it will alarm if the Alarm feature is enabled.

Hello the camera led status was normal, when I entered the house I got a rich notification and it was online but long distance was offline through my 3 day vacation.

I tried the mobile data when I was away it wasnt a connection issue from my perspective. Also I contacted my internet provider and everything was working normally. The router is always working and the connection is very strong.

Hi,
If the camera in the Tapo app still shows as online while using mobile data on your phone, it indicates that there is likely no issue with the camera itself. During your 3-day vacation, it is difficult to determine what might have caused the camera to display offline. Several factors could be at play, such as issues with the network your phone was connected to, problems with your home router and camera, etc. It's recommended that you pay attention to the camera's status and check if it will continue to work.
