C325WB constant recording/person detection after firmware update to 1.3.4
After/around the time of a firmware update to 1.3.4 my camera has started constantly detecting a person. It ends up recording constant 3 min videos in a loop, with 480 recordings in a day. In these videos the typical tagging box doesn't appear, so it's unclear what it's detecting if anything.
I've contacted support and they went straight into offering an RMA (which is appreciated!), but I've no way to tell if it's just this device being faulty or a more general problem with the update.
Anyone else have this model and is able to confirm how well it works on 1.3.4?

@Solla-topee Hi,
My previous support case with the same info (TP2506-6138) was just closed yesterday as a defective device and advising me to contact the retailer for replacement.
However, from the other forum responses here it's clearly not just my device that is affected, and there seems to be a common start with this firmware version.
I do hope we can actually investigate and hopefully resolve the issue this time.

Hi,
The firmware (1.3.4) of the Tapo C325WB V1 has been released for more than a month, and this is the first time we have received such feedback. It's hard to say what the root cause of the issue is now, and I have informed our tech team to analyze this issue further.

Hi All,
If your Tapo C325WB V1 continues to record detection video clips, you can refer to the thread "What can I do if the Tapo C325WB continues to record detection video clips?" for further assistance.

@Solla-topee
Hi
So all we need to do is send you the mac address, and a screen print, and it will be fixed?
That's a work around normally implies.
I'm unsure how that would work. Could you clarify?
thanks

Hi,
First, thank you @Solla-topee for the escalation.
Just an update for what's happened since, I had one more occurrence of the issue a couple days ago before support got back to me via email with an updated 1.3.6 beta build. I'm currently running that one and waiting a bit to see if it occurs again (given I've seen it take up to 4-5 days it'll take a bit to confirm). It's been a day and haven't had problems yet, hopefully this stays good.
@PC_st I can only guess/hope that contacting support while referencing the appropriate forum thread might allow you to test the beta firmware? They seem to have deployed it based on camera ID as it became available for update via the app.

@elu thanks for that - that sounds good. I have emailed the details of the two cameras having an issue. Hopefully this will solve everything! Would've been handy to know in the FAQ page.
Such quick work on a new release implies it was quite obvious in the code.

Hi,
I have 4 off Tapo C325WB, all set to continous recording.
2 off them are exhibiting the same issues, recording every 3 minutes, and lights on all the time.
Have reset/rebooted both, issue disappeared, has reappeared again on one them.
Very happy with these cameras and the system in general.
But need to sort this issue please?
Kind Regards,
Ger.
