Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I'm looking for the differences for the Tapo C310 camera, between hardware version V1 and V2. I saw a reply on a closed thread which stated that there is only a small difference in color and packaging.

Yet, the V1 is not supported by the H200 hub. If only packaging is different, why does the H200 hub not support the V1 version then....?

Hi,
The reply you saw may have been posted before the release of the feature that allows the Tapo camera to work with the hub. Different versions of the same product may have variations in their feature development plans. Some new features on the camera are supported through firmware updates rather than being available from the factory. For instance, the feature that works with the H200/H500 hub was introduced in the recent firmware update for the Tapo C310 V2 (1.4.3 Build 250610). Currently, there are no plans to support this feature on the Tapo C310 V1.

If you are considering purchasing a new Tapo camera and wish to use it with the Tapo Hub to save videos to the hub, we recommend checking the following FAQ to choose a suitable camera.

  @Solla-topee Why would you not support the C310 v1? I just bought the H500, i have 10 C310 v1 cameras. I just assumed that a Tapo camera would work with a Tapo Homebase. Should i just return the H500? Cameras work fine, so im not buying 10 new cameras.

  @Snerk

Hi,
To ensure the camera Tapo C310 V1's performance and the features that the camera has to work properly, there are currently no plans to add features to work with the Tapo hub (such as storing camera videos to the hub) on the Tapo C310  V1. If you have already purchased the Tapo H500, you can contact your retailer to see if you can return it.
Best Regards

  @Solla-topee This is really very sad. I have 6-7 C310 v1 cameras that I use. Do you think it makes sense to buy an SD card for all of them? If there is no hardware difference, why don't you provide an update? Is this a sales policy?
