I purchased this camera ( advertised as dog camera) for monitoring my dogs whilst out.  No matter what I do I cannot sort the audio. When using the app to talk, the sound coming out the camera is dreadful,  echoey and unintelligible.  When listening for audio coming from the camera it is totally useless. And there is no detection for dog barking!

Hi,
If the audio from the camera sounds unclear, you may try the following troubleshooting tip.
    1. Make sure that there are no obstructions covering the microphone and speaker openings on the camera.
    2. Ensure that the microphone and speaker volumes of the camera are set to a high level in our app.
    3. Ensure the camera is positioned to allow clear and unobstructed sound reception. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or near surfaces that may reflect sound.
    4. Test the audio with your mobile device positioned away from the camera, preferably in a different room. The proximity between the phone and camera during a voice call can cause audio feedback.

 

If the audio quality is still the same, please confirm the following information for further analysis.
  1. What's the camera's MAC address, firmware, and hardware version? You can send me (@Solla-topee) the MAC address via a private message.
  2. Please ensure the camera's firmware and the Tapo app are up to date.
  3. Can you send us a video showing the camera's audio quality? You can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me via a private message.
 

On our official website > TC70's Specifications page, you can see that the camera supports Motion Detection, Person Detection, and Baby Cry Detection only. Where did you see the camera advertised as a dog camera? You can send us the link to it if possible.

The TC70 is advertised as a dog camera, presumably because it can be used to monitor your dog's activities. On the Amazon product page, under the "About this item" section, it highlights that the camera features a wide-angle enhanced lens, and it is suitable for baby and pet monitoring. Furthermore, the "About this item" section also states that the camera supports only Person Detection, Motion Detection, and Baby Cry Detection.

Typically, when a dog moves in front of the TC70, the camera will recognize this movement as a "motion" event. With relevant features activated, such as notifications and recording, the camera will send you notifications and record videos to keep you updated on your dog's activities.

 

We appreciate your feedback on the camera advertising information. I will pass this matter on to the relevant department for evaluation to see if the information can be optimized.

I will get onto the video as the audio quality is the biggest issue.
