Hey,

I'm hoping someone can help me, I've had an incident where I require my Tapo CCTV / Doorbell footage to prove that there was no such activity at a specific time, but unlike my previous system (Ring / Blink) the Tapo app keeps looping the previous video footage from said satellite, so im unable to scrub and screenshot the time when the incident occurred as it jumps back to the last recorded clip.

Is there anyway I can get this to stop do I can show that there wasn't anything at these times?

TIA

Hi,
In your situation, you might consider demonstrating that no events were detected at a specific time from a different perspective.

For example, on the camera's Playback > SD Card page, you can see the Detected Events under the timeline. Each detected event will show the exact time it was detected. You can locate the detected events before and after the specific time in question and take screenshots to provide evidence that no events were detected during that time.

Best Regards

Hi @Rookie1986,

Did you try to remove the SD card and connect it to a PC then play videos on your computer?

@SecCamFan apologies, I've maybe not explained things very well, I can view the videos fine, thats not my problem, I'm wanting to show the camera overview so you can see at a specific time that there was no activity, but becuase the app continuously loops the last video the timeline for the day "jumps back" to that time and doesn't let me show later in the day.

Hi,
If you set the camera to record detection video clips only and store them on the SD card, on the Tapo app > camera's Playback & Download > Playback > SD card page, you can slide the timeline to show whether there are activities at a specific time. Typically,  if the camera detects events and records them, the corresponding color (such as green, yellow, etc.) will be displayed on the timeline. If only the background color is displayed on the timeline at a specific time, it means that there are no detection video clips, that is, the camera did not detect events.
(Note: you can slide quickly on the timeline, and then you won't go back to the last video clip automatically. You may use the Screen Record feature on your phone to record a video when you slide on the timeline to prove that there are no detection video clips at a specific time.)
Best Regards

@Solla-topee unfortunately doesn't work for me, still jumps back to the last recorded clip and moves the timeline to show this. Bit of a pain as its easy to show when something has happened (you've got a video clip), but no good if a courier is saying they attempted delivery at time "x" if you can never show time "x" to prove that no one attended the address / location at that time.
