I have a C510W that I have been using standalone with Tapo Care subscription for half a year now. During this half a year every recording got neatly saved to the tapo cloud.

Yesterday I decided to improve my setup with some sensors, and with those I also bought an H200 hub, that detected and added the camera during setup.

I have not installed an SD card for local storage as I was planning to utilize the tapo cloud/tapo care subscription I am still paying for.

However ever since the camera was added to the hub, it is trying to store events on the hub, locally, instead of the cloud. Why?

This is exactly what I do not need.

  @Elder_Bob

Hi,
Typically, connecting the camera to the hub won't affect the Tapo Care service. Are there no video clips stored on our cloud server after connecting the camera to the hub?

On the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Network Connection > Wi-Fi Backup page, please turn off this feature and check if it helps.

If the camera is connected to the router's Wi-Fi but no video clips are stored on our cloud server, you can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.

Dear  @Solla-topee ,

I have turned wifi backup off, even rebooted the camera, no changes in the behavior.

I have followed the troubleshooting steps through, and it looks all in order; firmware is updated, tapo care covers the camera, all looks tidy. The camera is simply lost the ability to upload anything to the cloud.

This really hurts as I am relying heavily on the videos stored on the cloud storage.

  @Elder_Bob

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported case.
  1. Please send me (@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message.

  2. Can you control the camera remotely in the Tapo app, such as turn off the Wi-Fi on your phone, and then test if you can control the camera in the Tapo app when using mobile data?

  3. Try to enable the camera's Alarm feature and then test if the camera will alarm sound or light when it detects events.
      How to configure the Alarm feature for the Tapo Cameras on the Tapo app?

Best Regards
