Extreme sound noises
Hello,
I first bought a Tapo C220, which had terrible background noise. So I got a new C210 instead, but it has exactly the same noise. Is this really the standard sound quality? I can't keep this camera if thats the normal sound when it's completely silent around the camera. It doesn't even detect baby sounds now.
I recorded it from my phone using my PC's headset:

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported audio phenomenon.
1. Are you watching the camera in the Tapo app or other third-party apps, and then hearing the background noise?
2. Please make sure that there are no obstructions covering the microphone and speaker openings on the camera. Ensure the camera is positioned to allow clear and unobstructed sound reception. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or near surfaces that may reflect sound.
3. What microphone and speaker volume have you set on the Tapo camera? You can send us a picture of the settings.
4. Please go to the camera's Live View page in the Tapo app, record a video manually on the Live View page, then send us the video for further analysis. You can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
Best Regards

I’ve got another C110 now — it’s significantly quieter (still has some cracking and gurgling). Thanks for your help anyway.

Hi,
The video you record on the camera's live view page does not show terrible background noise. When you watch the Tapo C210's live feed on your phone with the Tapo app, is the background noise the same as the .mp3 file posted in this thread? Is your phone's volume set to maximum?

Yes, if you view the camera live you have the noise which I posted in the mp3. For some reason the volume on the video is extremely low. And yes the phone volume was high. Otherwise you wont hear anything.

Hi,
Please follow the steps below to record the videos and then send them to us for analysis.
1. Go to the Tapo app > Camera's Live View page, tap the Recording icon to record the video manually.
2. Stay on the camera's Live View page but turn on your phone's Screen Recorder feature to record a video.
3. Wait for 15-20 seconds, stop recording videos on the Tapo app and your phone, and then send me the link to download the videos via a private message.
Please try to set the camera's microphone volume to the recommended level and adjust your phone's volume to the middle level. If the background sound becomes smaller and does not affect the camera's audio quality, you can keep the current settings.
Best Regards
