TAPO C325WB light control.
TAPO C325WB light control.
Hello. I just bought another C325WB camera but this one has a hardware version v2.
On C325WB with hardware version v1, I can configure video mode with full color and light off.
On 325WB with hardware version v2, this feature is no more available.
How can I configure it to have full color with light always off ?

Hi,
We currently have no plan to change the mode on the Tapo C325WB V1's Device Settings > Video & Display > Night Mode Settings page.

I have been using the V1.0 cameras to catch meteors and the northern lights as it catches all the colour. Unfortunately one camera bricked during an update so I was sent a replacement. This is v2.0 and I'm having a flap not being able to use with the spot light off and full colour.
The really REALLY bad news is that this week 2 other v1.0 cameras had the glass lens fall off and Tapo have agreed to replace.
what if they send out 2 new cameras with the v2.0 hardware eeechbhhh.
Really having a freak out
I have a camera for my each 4 directions of the sky, 1 bricked and was replaced with v2.0, 2x are getting replaced and could end up with v2.0, so that now leaves me with the last remaining v1.0 to star gaze
please PLEASE!!!! pLEASSssseeeeee have some update to be able to have spot light off setting on V2.0
ppppppplllllllleeeeaaaasseeeee

Excellent security camera with some great features. The person/vehicle/animal recognition works very well and the recording and alert function are great. Easy to fit and connect to the WiFi or ethernet. The night vision is however a little disappointing for my application. Like several others, I bought this camera more for astronomy use than security as the ability to have full colour night vision, as advertised, does not work in the Version2 camera. There was no mention in the advertising that there is a difference between V1 and V2 cameras operating firmware/software. The F1.0 lens is brilliant in the dark and is useful for spotting aurora and meteors etc but unlike the V1 camera the V2 switches to IR in low light and then turns on the spotlights and reverts to colour when motion is detected. There is no option to turn off the IR or spotlights in the menus, unlike V1. This means there is little difference between this camera and any other that switches between colour and IR (black and white) in low light. The spotlights turning on could also alert intruders to the presence of the camera, not always desirable.
So although a great feature packed camera the V2 is not as good as the V1 for astronomy and debatably some features not good for security usage. I have not used the audio features so cannot comment about them but I guess they will work well. I can only hope TP-Link issue a software/firmware update that gives the ability to turn the IR and spotlights off. Then it would be perfect.
Let's hope that an update will be available soon to make the V2 camera as good as the V1.
Regards
Simon
