Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.5

I got a problem about one of three Tapo C500 cameras I use

Sometimes, the led turns red and can no longer be handled from the android Tapo app.

After rebooting the camera, it sometimes loses WiFi after a few seconds later

The wifi network has no issue, since I got 2 more same model cameras, that work OK

Model: Tapo C500

Rev: 1.0

Firmware version: 1.3.5

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if the camera keeps going offline.
What should I do if my Tapo smart device keeps losing connection or going offline?

Please confirm the following information if the camera has the same behavior.
  1. Please go to the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and check the RSSI value.
  2. What's the router's model number and hardware version?
  3. Is the Tapo C500 connected to the router's Wi-Fi directly? Are there any obstacles between the camera and the router?
  4. How often does the disconnect phenomenon occur?

Best Regards

Hello sir/madam

The router is a Starlink, and the camera is directly connected to its WiFi network

Only obstacle is a wall, but direct distance between router and camera is 4-5 meters

Problem keeps on coming even after a reboot of the camera (disconnect and reconnect power)

Wifi signal is -52 (RSSI)

Hi,
If you have not tried to press the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset, please try it, and then reconfigure the camera and check if it will work fine.

If the camera keeps losing connection, please confirm the following information.
  1. Is the LED on the camera turned solid red when it is losing connection?
  2. How often does this phenomenon occur?
  3. Please refer to the instructions "How to get the log of Tapo Camera" to collect the camera log for further analysis.

Best Regards

Hello sir/madam

It seems that my camera "read" our conversation and now working without resetting to factory defaults!!

Either way, if problem comes again, I'll reset it as you suggested and will keep you informed.

Thanks a lot for your response and your patience!
