Hi, 
To conserve power, battery-powered cameras typically remain in a low-power sleep state and can only detect motion when awake. The camera's inability to detect events or incorrect detection of events may be related to multiple factors such as camera settings, installation environment, and event behavior. You can refer to Part 2 in the following instructions to troubleshoot if the detection feature is not working correctly.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
 

If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm the following information.
  1. What detection types are enabled on the camera's Device Settings > Detection page? What corresponding sensitivity value is? 
  2. Please send us the screenshots of both the detection zone page and the Wake-up Sensitivity page.
  3. Please send us the video showing no person in the video, but you receive a person-detected notification.

You can upload the video and pictures to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
