Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

My camera was working fine for few years. Then, without any change to my network, the camera had the red light always on. I reseted the camera, and since then, every time I tried to connect the camera back with my network, the pairing fails.

I have three other tapo C200 camera that are working without any issue. Hence, I think we can exclude any issue with my provider, the router or the network.

Any idea?

Hi,
If the camera has a flashing red and green light after a factory reset, please change your router's wireless security type to WPA2-PSK, then reconfigure the camera and check if you can set it up successfully.

If it fails, please enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, set the wireless security type to WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, factory reset the Tapo C200, configure it with another phone, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and then check if you can set it up successfully.

How to set up the Tapo camera

Best Regards

Thanks, solution 1 worked. My router had the encryption set to WPA3/WPA2 and I downgraded to WPA2 only.

However, I have a follow up question: as mentioned in my original post, I have 4 C200 cameras. In addition, I didn't change the encryption parameter... hence the defect camera was working previous with the encryption WPA3/WPA2.

Why are all the other cameras fine with WPA3/WPA2? Is that a limitation related to the hardware.

Thanks
