Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.9

Hi!

I have 9 TAPO C200 cameras in my home. Out of them, 3 stay online even when I’m not connected to Wi-Fi, but the others go offline. When I’m on Wi-Fi, all cameras stay online.

I’ve noticed the following:

  • Some cameras are V1 running firmware 1.3.16 — these work fine.

  • Cameras that are V5 also work fine.

  • But the V1 cameras running firmware 1.3.9 all go offline whenever I’m outside of Wi-Fi.

The problem is that I can’t update those V1 cameras to firmware 1.3.16 (the version that actually works).

What should I do?

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot if you fail to control the camera remotely.
What to do if I can't control my Tapo cameras on the Tapo app?

You can also try enabling a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, then factory reset a camera, configure it with another phone, and connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi. Check if you can control it remotely afterward. If so, update the firmware to the latest version, perform a factory reset, and then reconfigure it to connect to your home Wi-Fi.

Best Regards
