Hello, I own for Tapo cameras, 3 C530WSs and 1 C560WS. The audio quality on the 3 C530WS sounds more natural while the C560WS has this weird distortion(?) which is kinda irritating to hear especially when vehicles pass near the camera. I checked the camera again for any obstruction but found none. I also tried the troubleshooting method posted here but the problem persists. Can this be fixed with a firmware update? I'll post a video if needed.

Hi,
Regarding the reported audio quality phenomenon, please provide the following information for further analysis.


  1. Send me (@Solla-topee) the Tapo C560WS's MAC address via a private message.
  2. Ensure the camera's speaker and microphone volume are set to a high value.
  3. On the camera's Live View page, please record a video showing the reported audio phenomenon, then download it to your phone and send it to us. You can also send us a video recorded on the Tapo C530WS to compare.

 

You can upload the videos to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Actually, I compared them both right now and they both sound kinda bad. I was browsing other threads here as well and apparently it's related to the bitrate and sample rate being rather low. Does increasing the bitrate and sample rate increase the file size of the video as well?

Hi,
It's hard to say why the Tapo C560WS and C530WS's audio quality isn't good now. For further analysis of the reported phenomenon, we suggest referring to this post to send us the corresponding videos.
 

Usually, increasing the bitrate and sample rate increases a video's file size.
