Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.6

I’ve run into a persistent issue with my garden security camera. It keeps detecting the cover for my patio heater as a person, triggering the floodlight and setting off alerts. I’ve corrected the event manually in the app over 100 times, but the AI still hasn’t learned — it continues to flag the same false positive every night.

It’s become so disruptive that I’ve had to disable the auto alarm at night, which defeats the purpose of having the system in the first place. Has anyone else experienced this kind of stubborn misidentification? Is there a workaround, or a way to retrain the AI more effectively? Any advice would be appreciated — it’s getting super annoying.

Hi,
Thank you for providing the images and video. It seems that your patio heater cover somewhat resembles a human shape, making it easier for the camera to misidentify it as a person. Here are some suggestions you can try:

  1. Try lowering the sensitivity of Person Detection, adjusting it to 6 or below.
  2. Set up a privacy zone to cover the patio heater.
  3. Configure different detection zones for enabled detection types. For example, when setting the detection zone for person detection, exclude the area where the patio heater cover is located.

Best Regards

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported phenomenon for further analysis.

  1. On the camera's Device Settings > Detection page, please send us the screenshots of the Detection page, the detection zones, and the enabled detection types page.

  2. On the camera's Live View > Playback & Download > Playback > SD card page, please download a video showing the camera detecting the patio heater cover as a person, then send the video to us. Please also send us a screenshot of the SD card page showing the corresponding video clip.

You can upload the video and screenshots to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Best Regards

Thanks, that sorted it. Although it's disappointing that AI could not adapt to me correcting the event types over 100 times to stop tagging my patio heater cover as a person 😅
