I have installed a Tapo C500 V1 camera at home. To prevent power failure, I installed it on a 12 V battery. Everything is perfect.

Now, I decided to acquire 2 more C500 but what I received is 2 cameras V2.

The power adapter for the V2 is only 9 volts. The wires I have installed would be connected to the same battery as the first camera (12 V)

My question: Will the V2 work with a 12 V battery?

Hi,
Using a 12V power adapter/battery for the Tapo C500 V2 is not recommended, as it exceeds the specified voltage for this model and could potentially damage the camera. We recommend using only the recommended 9V/0.85A power adapter for safe, reliable operation.
