Model: Tapo C320WS
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

My C320ws has stopped working. It shows up offline on the app.

Tried factory reset but it doesn't seem to do anything. Holding the button down for 4-10-15 seconds.

Theres no status LED (red/green/amber), even after plugging and unplugging it or when trying to factory reset it.

The 2 red lights on the side stay on all the time as long as the power is connected, and i can hear a shutter sound from the camera from after every 10 or so seconds and the 2 red lights blink with the shutter sound. Please see pic below.

Please Help

  @Jules2011

Hi,
You can try the following steps and see if they help.

  1. Turn off your camera, and remove the SD card from it if there is one. Turn the camera back on with the original power adapter and cord.
  2. Wait for two minutes, press and hold the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset. Then, check the LED status on the camera.
  3. If the LED is flashing red and green, you can try to reconfigure the camera in the Tapo app: How to set up the Tapo camera
  4. If the camera's LED does not change and the camera does not respond to the reset operation, you can contact your retailer or the local support team to check if the camera is under warranty.

Best Regards

I submitted a ticket with the exact same problem, but on a previous model. Since the warranty has passed, they suggested that I buy a new camera. So they sell us cameras that stop working for NO reason after a while, only so we would buy new cameras. I asked if they could recommend another brand with better quality, because I am done with Tapo. They wouldn't even offer me a discount nor an explanation for the faulty camera.

I hear you, ive read through numerous complaints with the tplink cameras. Definitely not buying another one from this company. Might try xiaomi or quobo. A ton complaints of tplink cameras bricking due to firmware update, i have feeling thats what happened to mine. When it comes to security reliability is non negotiable. The c320ws was a good camera while it lasted, but it looks like their life is about 2~ years.
