Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported phenomenon.

  1. Do you mean you need to reboot the camera after it stops working to activate it again? If not, please describe what you mean by the "refresh" operation.
  2. What's the LED status on the camera when it stops working, such as flashing red, solid red, etc.?
  3. On the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, please tap the Wi-Fi icon and check the RSSI value.
  4. On the camera's Device Settings > Reboot Camera page, you can enable the Auto Reboot feature and check if it helps.

Best Regards

Hi,
1. Regarding the "refresh" phenomenon or the feature request to add the "auto refresh" button, please help confirm the information in this post so I can better assist you.

2. The Manual Record won't take effect after you leave the camera's live view page. If you want to record video continuously or record detection video clips on an SD card, please refer to the instructions below to configure your camera's storage settings.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card

Best Regards

well  The problem with this whole issue is that it is necessary to add an automatic refresh button where the user can set every hour or hours it will work automatically so that there is no issue. It would be good if the company had this in mind for a future software upgrade.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback and feature request to improve our product's performance.

We value your feature request for an "auto refresh button", but we are currently unclear about its specific function and the issues it addresses. In your initial post, you mentioned that the camera stops working after a few hours and requires a refresh to restore it. However, we would like to understand more details to assess the demand for this feature better. Specifically, please elaborate on the following points.

  1) The phenomenon you experience:  When the camera stops working, do you see the "tap to refresh" prompt in the live view page? Or is the camera disconnected from Wi-Fi? Or other phenomena.
  2) The "refresh" action you did: Did you click the "tap to refresh" on the camera's live view page to restore it? Or have you rebooted the camera to restore the Wi-Fi connection? Or other actions.
  3) If you encounter other phenomena and take other actions to activate the camera, please feel free to let us know.

Your feedback is important to us. After understanding your detailed request, I will forward it to the relevant department for evaluation to improve the user experience and the performance of our product.

Best Regards

1)  1) The phenomenon you experience:  When the camera stops working, do you see the "tap to refresh" prompt in the live view page? Or is the camera disconnected from Wi-Fi? Or other phenomena.

<<yes i see the "tap to refresh" prompt in the live view page>>

2)  2) The "refresh" action you did: Did you click the "tap to refresh" on the camera's live view page to restore it? Or have you rebooted the camera to restore the Wi-Fi connection? Or other actions.

<< yes i have to tap the refresh on camera live view to restore the live feed many times in the day>>

3) If you encounter other phenomena and take other actions to activate the camera, please feel free to let us know.

<< no i dont encounter any other phenomena or take any other action>>

For this reason, it is necessary to have such an automatic option that understands if the live feedback is stuck and if it cannot understand it, you can set it yourself every few hours to perform this process automatically, (for example, every 1 hour or 2 hours or every 12 hours of your choice).

This will greatly help us users who have remote access and whose network is relatively problematic and not gives feedback live 24/7 and hangs periodically.

Hi,
The "Tap to Refresh" prompt may appear because your network quality is poor. Regarding the phenomenon you've reported, on one hand, we recommend that you try to run the camera and your phone on a network with good quality. On the other hand, I will also log your feature request and forward it to the relevant department for evaluation.
Best Regards
