Model: Tapo C201
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Hello,

i have the following problem.

Two C201 cameras arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, I discovered that after a firmware update to version 1.3.1, RTSP no longer works.

RTSP works perfectly on the other camera with firmware 1.0.17, and therefore also in Home Assistant.

Is there a downgrade option, or will a new firmware version be released soon?

Best regards

Markus

Hi,
The Tapo C201 supports the RTSP/ONVIF protocols in the latest firmware v1.3.1. You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if you fail to establish an RTSP connection.
What can I do if fail to stream the Tapo camera via the RTSP/ONVIF protocol?

Please confirm the following information if the same phenomenon persists.
  1. List the troubleshooting you did.
  2. Try to stream the camera via RTSP/Onvif with other third-party apps, such as Agent DVR and VLC, according to this FAQ: How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol. Then, test if you can stream the camera successfully.

Best Regards

I reset the camera and re-added it. Now it works. Thank you very much. Best Regards
