Model: Tapo C230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.2

Hello Tapo Support Team,

"Firstly I apologize and I do not know where this should go, either on Deco or Tapo. But!" Good day. I am reaching out regarding an ongoing connectivity issue with our Tapo cameras where they intermittently show “No Network Connectivity” or no video feed, despite having a stable internet connection.

Below is a summary of the hardware involved, recording setup, and troubleshooting steps already performed.

Camera Inventory

  • 11 Tapo cameras in total (I did not list the other ones that looks OK)

  • 3 pcs – Tapo C230

  • 1 pc – Tapo C320WS V2
    Firmware Version: 1.3.5

  • 1 pc – Tapo C500 V1
    Firmware Version: 1.3.5

  • (Remaining cameras are also Tapo models, all updated to the latest available firmware)

Recording / Storage Device

  • TP-Link VIGI recording device (NVR) used for camera recordings

Network Setup:

  • Internet: 500 Mbps fiber connection

  • ISP modem/router (PLDT)

  • TP-Link SG2008 switch

  • 2 TP-Link Deco X95 mesh system configured in Access Point (AP) mode

  • 1 Deco E4R Ver 1.1.2 (Outside device in my Garage)

  • Cameras are connected via Wi-Fi

  • Land size 400 Sqm

Troubleshooting Steps Already Done:

  1. Verified internet speed and stability (no general connectivity issues).

  2. Restarted all cameras individually.

  3. Power-cycled all network devices (modem, switch, Deco access points).

  4. Confirmed all cameras are running the latest available firmware.

  5. Reconnected cameras to the Wi-Fi network.

  6. Tested camera connectivity at different times of the day.

  7. Confirmed there are no bandwidth-heavy devices saturating the network.

  8. Changed Deco X95 to AP mode to avoid double NAT.

  9. Verified cameras connect to a single SSID (no Wi-Fi band separation issues).

  10. Observed that after switching Deco to AP mode, the Tapo app sometimes shows cameras as offline, even though the network is active.

Issue Observed

  • Cameras intermittently lose live view and show “No Network”.

  • Issue affects multiple camera models.

  • Happens across multiple cameras (11 total), not isolated to a single device.

  • Occurs even with strong Wi-Fi signal and sufficient bandwidth.

Would appreciate your guidance on:

  • Any known issues with Tapo cameras when used with mesh networks in AP mode

  • Recommended router, multicast, DHCP, or VLAN-related settings

  • Any compatibility considerations when using VIGI NVR together with Tapo cameras

  • Additional diagnostics or logs we can provide

Thank you for your assistance. Please let us know if screenshots, logs, or further information are needed.

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported phenomenon.

  1. Are the three Deco units configured in the AP mode and connected to the switch with an Ethernet cable?

  2. It's recommended to go to the Deco app to check which camera is connected to which Deco, and then check the camera's RSSI value by going to its Device Settings > Device Info page in the Tapo app, then click the Wi-Fi icon to see the RSSI value. Do any cameras have a weak signal strength (< -60 dBm), and do they frequently show as offline or "no network"?

  3. When the camera displays offline in the Tapo app, what's the LED status on it? How do you recover the connection?

  4. Please check if the steps in the following instructions help.
What should I do if I can't view the Tapo camera?

  5. Please refer to the instructions below to collect the camera log for analysis.
How to get the log of Tapo Camera

  6. The listed cameras can work with VIGI NVR.

Best Regards

Hi  @Solla-topee,

For the questions:

1. #1 x95 is cabled > Wirelessly connected to the other 2.

2. RSSI usually plays within -35 to -60 however, when I try to Visit Tapo app and checking the camera sometimes its not available or just does not load. Yes they 80% of the time say No network available.

3. Led status is Orange. It just connects by itself. When I try to check the ping of the devices they just reaches 5K++ and drops and reconnects again it does it to the point that its useless to have a camera cause I can't record or see what is happening.

 * Just to give you of an idea on how my Devices are set up. I have 4 Cameras outside which are connected Wirelessly to E4R

 * Then I have 4 Cameras connected in the x95 in my Living room.

 * Then 2 Cameras connected in my Office (Main Deco)

4. I'll check this out.

5. I do not have SD card on the cameras as I am recording via Vigi, I will try to get 1 card tho for this process.

Hi,
Thank you for your cooperation, and please let me know if you have collected the camera log.

You can also refer to the instructions below to change the settings on the Deco and check if they will help.
