Archer NX500 V1 random modem crash/reboot
Archer NX500 randomly crashes and reboots. This has happened 3 times in the past few days after weeks of stable operation.
What happens:
- The modem completely drops (shows "No SIM Card" or "Disconnected")
- The router reboots itself automatically and regains connection after a few minutes
- No manual intervention needed, but internet is down during this time
- No warning, no pattern — happens randomly
What I've tried:
- Created custom APN profile with IPv4 only (instead of IPv4 & IPv6)
- Network mode set to 4G/3G
- Carrier: Tre (Sweden), APN: bredband.tre.se
Log evidence: The system log shows nothing before the crash (wiped by reboot). After reboot I see: LTE: first_conn_uptime=76 This confirms a full system reboot occurred.
Similar to the NX600 issue reported here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/841778
The difference is that my router reboots and recovers on its own, whereas in that thread the router stayed in a failed state until manually restarted. A beta firmware helped that user. Is there a beta firmware available for the NX500 V1 that addresses this modem crash issue?
