Hey TP Link team.

I have six C425 cameras around my house and garden. We have mesh WiFi around the property using Ethernet cables and all the cameras have good connection.

One camera is causing us a hassle. It drains 5/6% battery every day and I often can't connect to it when I'm out. I've tried putting it next to the router it's connected to (checking the Deco app as well), turning off all detection, and it still has issues. Unstable network so I can't see the video or playback and the battery drains. It has the latest firmware the same as the others.

Any ideas of what is causing it or how to fix it?

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if your camera's battery drains quickly.
What to do if the battery drains quickly on my Tapo battery-powered camera/doorbell?

Regarding the reported phenomenon, please confirm the following information.

  1. Please send me (@Solla-topee) your camera's MAC address via a private message. You can find the MAC address on the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page.

  2. When you're out of your house, does the camera often display offline in the Tapo app?

  3. Do you mean when you view the camera's video recordings in the Tapo app, the app will display the "unstable network" message? If so, please refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.
What should I do if I experience issues when watching playback videos from an SD card?

Best Regards
