After seeing the update changelog regarding the camera when viewing the app, I updated it to the latest version. My previous recurring issues like false detections of my animals were also fixed in this update (it was fixed by the custom firmware before as well). However another issue popped up and now the audio of the camera when viewing from the app has a screeching sound that is borderline unbearable to hear. I had to turn off the microphone because it's grating to the ears. I think there's also some delay/sync issue in the audio recording compared to the video shown but I need to test it more tomorrow. Strangely enough, the screeching sound isn't really that present in the recordings. The video is recorded via the H500 btw. I really wish there's a hotfix for this issue.

 

Edit 1: I just tested and did some recordings today and there are no delays in the video. Audio seems also fine when viewing the recorded videos. It's only during live view that the audio is screeching.

Hi,
Please try the following steps and check if they help.
  1. Please ensure the Tapo app installed on your phone is the latest one. You can go to the App Store or Google Play to see if there is a new version.
  2. You can use a different phone to test if the same phenomenon persists.

 

If not, please provide the following information for further analysis.
  1. Please go to the Tapo app > camera's Live View page, use your phone's Screen Recorder feature to record a video showing the reported phenomenon.
  2. Download a video from the camera's Playback & Download > Playback page to your phone.
  3. You can upload the videos to your cloud server (such as Google Drive) or YouTube, generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

1. I double checked before posting here and it's the latest version from the playstore.

2. I actually used my mother's phone (also updated to the recent version in the playstore) to verify to check if it's an issue with my phone before posting here as well. Same issue, the audio is still screeching during live view. Both phones (Poco F3 & Pixel 7a) are connected via the same local network as the cameras and hub.
