I've had my Tapo TC60 for about 2 years now. Using a memory card. It has now decided not to detect the memory card. Saying there isn't a card inserted. Which there is as its never been taken out until its gone wrong. I've taken it out reinserted. Disconnected it from the mains. Rebooted it. Reset it. I clear the memory every day.
I just don't know what to do next. What has happened?
I would recommend trying a new MicroSD in the camera. See if it formats and is detected. If it is, then it would indicate the current MicroSD is at the end of its life. MicroSD cards are based on NAND flash memory, and this type of memory degrades over time. Specifically, anytime data is being written to it. Depending on the grade, a MicroSD card can have a few hundred to a few thousand write cycles. Cameras, especially ones that do continuous recording, are heavy workloads on memory cards, and as such, the average life of a memory card is a few years. We recommend using High-Endurance graded cards as these are the most durable and longest-lasting cards while remaining reasonably affordable.
