Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 build 20251023 rel. 43624

Hello. For some time now, I've been struggling with my home setup: a cramped apartment, 3 nodes, backhaul via Ethernet with Category 7 UTP cable, Ubiquiti Ethernet Surge Protector (ETH-SP-G2) between each node, and fans to keep the temperature below 30 degrees Celsius. But nothing works. Every week, I lose the devices in the app, I have to restart the main node, and something new always seems to happen. Inspecting the logs doesn't help. I should mention that this is the third mesh system I've bought: e4 -> x20 -> xe75. Each one improved things a little, but the problems persist. I was told that one solution is to reduce the load (by switching from router to access point). This leads me to move the DHCP configuration, reservations, and names to another device I have on the network (a GL-AXT1800, which I bought for disaster recovery; if my ISP goes down, I can manage for a while using my cellular data). One of the problems I'm having is extracting the information to migrate the DHCP management, but the application is quite basic (I'll manage somehow). But what worries me most is reverting to the current state without having to reconfigure. Apparently, the application allows me to save the configuration to the cloud. Is there a way to access that configuration to ensure it will work if I factory reset the XE75 and can revert to my current setup? Is there any documentation on this? Every time I migrate to a different mesh version, I've had to re-upload everything. There are 50 nodes. A lot of work. Can you tell me a bit more about this? Obviously, it would be better if the xe75 worked properly (it's supposed to be designed for 150 devices, and even with 50, it has serious problems). I've noticed that all that happens on the forum is people complaining and not getting any solutions. So, tired of this situation, I'd like to be able to at least manage the migration and/or rollback of the function change "easily."

Have you tried checking for firmware updates? According to this support page your deco's firmware may be out of date. To check use the directions below.

1. Go to http://tplinkdeco.net/ and sign in - use the same password you use to log into the deco app

2. Once your logged in click on Advanced

3, Click on System from the menu on the left

4, Now click on Firmware Upgrade

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Check for upgrades

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I found that my XE75, according to the label, has the following FCC ID: 2AXJ3XE75V3, IC: 26583-XE75V3, and HVIN: XE75 PROV3 decoder. On the support page, I see that I have the latest possible version, so the best course of action would be to remove some features, which was my original idea. In that regard, I'd like to confirm that if things go wrong, I can revert to the current configuration.

So you can revert your firmware to a previous version, but to do so you need to perform a firmware recovery. See the following FAQ on how to roll back your firmware.

There is also a brand new beta firmware in testing that adds more features that you can try as well. See the following post that has all the info and download/install instructions if you want to try the beta.

Okay. Thanks for replying. We have several issues here. First, my idea of converting the XE75 from a router to an access point would potentially mean losing the DHCP information for each of my clients. I've already backed all of this up, but I don't see a way to restore it to the node. I understand that the "configuration backup" contains all that information, but it's not clear to me if that's the case, and how I can revert to that configuration. On the other hand, we have the option of upgrading to 1.4. In that case, I'd like to have the 1.3.1 firmware build 20251023 rel 43624 saved. That way, if something goes wrong, I'll already have it on my hard drive. Where can I get that firmware? The download site (/https://www.tp-link.com/ar/support/download/deco-xe75/v3/#FAQs) only lists manuals, but not the .zip/.bin file. Could you tell me where that is? I think I'd go ahead and change the node's function anyway. But I want to have all the options to see what's best for me. My house really depends on the mesh working correctly.

Sorry for the late reply. To answer your first question see the following FAQ with instructions on how to restore your deco from a backup.

For your 2nd question on where to download the 1.3.1 firmware build 20251023 rel 43624 firmware we will have to ask a member of the tp-link staff as you are correct it's not on the support page and it should be.

@Solla-topee

Can you please provide a download link for the firmware and get that page fixed?

Please advise.
