Privacy mode can't be turned off by ringing the doorbell in Automation feature
I tried to create a Automation item, which should be triggered by "someone rings the doorbell" and "turn off privacy mode". It doesn't work.Is it usual?
My major purpose is:
1. During the night, recording for motion detection and ring the bell.
2. During the daytime, recording for ring the bell only.
so, I created four Automaiton items to achieve this purpose:
1. From 18:00, privacy mode will be turned off
2. From 08:00, privacy mode will be turned on
3. Someone rings the bell, privacy mode will be turn off.
4. After 5 mins of someone rings the bell, privacy mode will be turned on.
But the third one doesn't work. :(
Any solution or alternative way to achieve this?
Thank you in advacne.

@Wayne-TP Some misunderstanding here.
Regarding 3. Someone rings the bell, privacy mode will be turn off.
Previously it was trrigered by D230S1, now it was trrigered by H200.
If D230S1's privacy mode is On, indeed its privacy mode can't be turned off by its own "bell rings".
But it can be turned off by "bell rings" of other device, which is H200.
It looks good now.

Doorbell pressed event will not be reported to the cloud when the camera is in privacy mode, so it cannot used to control privacy mode in automation.

@Wayne-TP Then do you have any other solution to achieve my original purpose?
Thank you.

Tapo D230 doorbell's detection (recording) type can only be set motion detection OR doorbell pressed. The detection type cannot be controlled through automation. If you need to change the event recording type, it can only be modified manually within the tapo app.
If the main purpose is to control the privacy mode, you can set a time-triggered automation, or use other Tapo smart devices as the trigger, such as a motion sensor. However, I think a privacy mode switch may not be necessary for this doorbell, as it is battery-powered and typically stays in standby mode. It only detects and records the scene in front of the camera when it is activated, such as when you view the live feed or when the doorbell's PIR sensor detects heat changes nearby.

Hi @Wayne-TP,
Thanks for your reply and hints.
I found a proper solution now.
1. From 18:00, privacy mode will be turned off
2. From 08:00, privacy mode will be turned on
3. Someone rings the bell, privacy mode will be turn off. <--- Set this automation in H200 (Hub), instead of D230S1. It worked!
4. After 5 mins of someone rings the bell, privacy mode will be turned on.
Good day,
Mystic

It makes no difference whether the automation is created through Tapo hub device page, or through the app Smart tab, it is the same thing, only the entry is different.
Please double-check if there are any mistakes in the settings that make it look like a successful automation.

Wow, that's brilliant!
But be aware that this may not work when you have more smart devices and automation which includes an operation to ring the hub. In that case, I think it's time to get another hub, lol.
