AC5400 c5400x router wan aggregation
Hello!
For the AC5400 -C5400X- router; for WAN aggregation, the user guide (4.6) says:
WAN Aggregation transforms the LAN1 port to an additional WAN port, and makes a single high-bandwidth data path.
If anyone has this router, would you be kind enough to test if turning on WAN aggregation in the settings (Advanced/Network/Internet, go to the bottom), then move the ethernet cable from the main WAN port to the LAN 1 port, that you still have an internet connection? iow- the main WAN port is empty, and only the LAN 1 port has the ethernet cable. When I do that, the center light is RED - no internet access. To me, that indicates that the LAN 1 port is not acting like a WAN port. In addition, when connecting 2 feeds, one into the WAN port, and another into the LAN 1 port, speed does not increase. Plus, since the LAN 1 port doesn't seem to have internet access, there is no fail over support if the main WAN port has some trouble (like a power failure on that feed).
I suspect my router is having problems, and TP_LINK support doesn't seem to understand.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith
