5ghz 2 running at less than half speed
My 5g 2 is running slow and I cannot seem to fix it. Its a tri-band router and all three have auto settings for Mhz and channel. Interestingly when I power the router on the 5g 2 works at full speed but it depletes after about 2 mins. Also, I cannot seem to fix the channel or channel width (Mhz) on the 5g 2 connection like I can on the 5g1 or the 2.4. Using a wifi analyser it appears that my 5g 2 connection is perpetually at 20Mhz and if I try to change it I lose the connection. 5g 1 is broadcasting at 80Mhz. There doesn't appear to be any obvious interference - but despite the auto setting 5g 2 seems fixed on channel 100. I'm in the UK

@pcuttle I've managed to force the 5g 2 into 80mhz as opposed to auto. That seems to help. I'm not sure why it wouldn't help earlier.

@pcuttle stopped working I can't understand. I've set the channel and channel width to 80 but doesn't seem to work. The thing I can't understand is why does it work at full strength for like 5 mins. Then stop?

Have you looked into updating firmware yet? If that does not help, you may need to work with TP-Link engineers. They may have a beta firmware you can try.

It is strange but doing a factory reset has helped me in the past with strange behavior. Hopefully, that takes care of it for you.
