Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.0 Build 20220525 Rel. 48298

I'm using the system that consists of 12 Deco (10 M5 including the main, 2 X20). Recently I've started to face the issue when some devices (PS5, Mac books) are connecting to the network but not the internet. They are not getting an ip.

I saw 2 years old topic, and the solution mentioned there is to put the DNS addresses to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 which is already the case in my situation.

the DHCP range is 50-250. The connected devices in average are around 50-60, the maximum number of connected devices was 108 which is still less than the DHCP range.

in the log I see some repetitive messages such as:

daemon.err udhcpd[13333]: checked a ip conflict node:192.168.68.84

daemon.err udhcpd[13333]: find_free_or_expired_nip

daemon.err udhcpd[13333]: checked a node ip same

daemon.err udhcpd[13333]: ip conflict, find a new ip: 192.168.68.98, ready to arp check

daemon.err udhcpd[13333]: send arp packet:192.168.68.98

I have few devices with reserved IPs but the majority are using DHCP

The work around for me was to keep restarting the main deco, or wait for sometime (5-10 minutes, sometimes more) till the device gets an ip.

is it a known issue for the admins? are they working on a solution? is there a configuration fix?

  @Ahmed_Alawadhi

Thank you very much for the feedback.

There is a beta firmware that might help with your current issue and if you are interested, please install this beta firmware first:

Deco M5 1.6.0 build 20220816

Bug fixes:

1. Fixed the insight/time limit issue under Parental control.
2. Fixed the DDNS Issue under PPPoE connection type.

Modifications/Improvements:
1. Optimized the DHCP function.
2. Optimized the Monthly Reports function.
3. Optimized the Clients List function.
4. Improved system reliability.

And please let me know whether the firmware worked or not.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Thanks David for the firmware.

Unfortunately it didn't solve the issue, it became worse. Now I'm facing the same issue with other devices such as printers and PCs

Same exact issue here. 27 devices connected, any further ones don't get an IP.

  @destriaero

still following up with the support team. Meanwhile, I've made my Decos on AP mode and everything is fine now.

Even the issue that I was having with the surveillance cameras is resolved. I didn't suspect the deco earlier

  @Ahmed_Alawadhi I had this same issue when running 2 x Deco E4 in router mode.  Eventually thought I had solved it when I introduced an X50 into the mix and it has been running for 3 months issue free, same issue now happening again when I seem to hit 25 devices connected existing devices can't reconnect via DHCP.

TP-Link support were no help last time I reported this and it appears to be a common issue that has been going on for a long time now with no fix in sight!
