Can't Upgrade Deco X55's Firmware Using Any Of The 3 Methods
I originally purchased a Deco X55 3-Pack (labeled as: Basement-Main, Basement-TV, and Family Room), but after a couple of weeks of use, I determined a fourth Deco X55 was needed for better coverage on the top floor. This fourth unit (labeled as: Loft) was a 1-Pack. I am trying to update the firmware on all four units, but especially the new single unit (labeled as: Loft) as the firmware appears to be rather far out of date.
- The "Loft" has:
- Deco X55(US) 1.0.1 Build 20221103
- The 3-Pack are:
- Deco X55(US) 1.2.0 Build 20230113
- I tried updating the firmware from within the Deco iPhone app (the app itself is the latest version) but I get the message, "Your Deco Home Wi-Fi System is currently up-to-date. Enjoy!"
- Next, I tried updating the firmware from within the Deco web portal located at http://tplinkdeco.net using my credentials and being directly connected to the Main Deco unit using an ethernet cable. I clicked the "Check for Upgrades" button located there.
- Finally, I tried updating the firmware from within the Deco web portal located at http://tplinkdeco.net using my credentials and being directly connected to the Main Deco unit using an ethernet cable, but this time going to Advanced > System > Firmware Upgrade. Then I selected my device model that I wanted to upgrade and clicked the BROWSE button to choose the firmware I already extracted. It was a XXXX.bin file.
I tried both .bin files for:
- Deco X55(US)_V1_1.2.0 Build 20230113
- Published Date: 2023-03-01
- Deco X55(US)_V1_1.2.2 Build 20230301
- Published Date: 2023-03-31

Both of the 2 firmware versions failed at about %50 of the way through and I got a message saying to download the right/correct/up-to-date version.
