Deco BE85 BE2200 causing spanning tree loops on my network in access point mode
I just got 4 nodes yesterday. I have a 10G wired network in my house so I connected the AP to the switches, overnight they must have tried using the wireless backhaul AND wired backhaul simultaneously and caused spanning tree loops on my network.
Is there a way to add a configuration switch to FORCE these into wired backhaul only?
I had this same issue with Eero Pro 6E so I bought these hoping they would not have an issue.

So far, there hasn't been an option to force Deco into Wired Backhaul only.
Can I have a picture of your network topology and the model number of the network switches so that I could forward the case to the engineers to see whether there is any workaround?

@MikeBGA just had that same issue with connecting the be85 to a Cisco business 250 switch. The Cisco engineer turned off the Switch's Spanning Tree Protocol on those specific ports. Once he did, the issues stopped.

@estorz73 I complained enough that tplink made a custom image for the AP so I could turn off wireless backhaul. Turning off spanning tree is a no no :)

@MikeBGA thanks for the quick response. We weren't worried bc it's only for my movies. That said. I returned the Cisco and I'm currently (as I type! I'm optimostic!!!) unboxing the tl sx 3206hpp. It's my hope that, given that it's a to link switch, I'll avoid some packet loss when watching youtube tv. Quite frustrating.

@estorz73 FYI having to turn off spanning tree that makes loops on the network is not a fix. You'll still have outages as the AP fires up both wired and wireless backhaul, any switch out there even the dumb ones will have massive issues with this as their proc will spike when they see the loop. Spanning tree stops the loops but a dumb switch without spanning tree allows the loop but it causes issues still. You'll continue to have network outages due to this. The fix is with TP-Link to disable the wireless backhaul for wired devices after the wired backhaul is established. For some reason their software tries the wireless backhaul every few hours even with the wired backhaul, that's NUTS!!!!
FYI I'm a Network Architect and I taught the Cisco NetAcad for years, this is just kindergarten networking yet somehow TP-Link likes to think they can bypass it.

@David-TP I'm having a similar issue with a Netgear GS752TPv2 - when the XE75 Pro starts up, it is flaky due to the wired and wireless interfaces looping.

Hi guys
I'm having the same issue with my Deco M9+
I have 4 units in AP mode and 2 of them are using the wireless backhaul causing and outage which is resolved by my switches blocking the port to one of them.
I can't see any way to disable the wireless backhaul in the web management or the app. The app only has the ability to set a connection preference for the wireless backhaul, not to set it to wired.
Do I need a custom firmware for this or is there a way to do this?

@ClayMi I ended up just buying the recommended tp link switches. All my units (6e and 7) have been working great ever since.

@estorz73 thanks for the info.
Unfortunately this isn't an option for me as I have quite a big network at home with 6 switches and a bunch of VLANs.
I could disconnect the wired ports but this would significantly reduce the performance of the wireless network. It's quite strange to me that as long as the devices are connected to the wired LAN and have connectivity to the master that they do not disable the wireless bridging.

@ClayMi keep bugging support until they do a custom image.
I had to buy little local surge/battery backup for my nodes because if they reboot you have to start all over again.
I've been up and stable for months now with those 2 changes.
