Godd afternoon.

I have a NAS connected to a router AX1800 24/7. However, every time I turn on my main computer, the Ethernet connection is limited to 100 Mbps instead of the expected 1000 Mbps. Interestingly, this issue is resolved when I disconnect and then reconnect the Ethernet cable. QoS is disconected.

Cheers.

  @Bertu,

I would first take a look at the negotiated settings in your network adapter properties. When speeds are limited to that extent, I always assume that the negotiation failed and it chose a lower speed. Reconnecting the ethernet cable would force the connection to take place again.

You may consider trying to force your PC's network adapter to use 1000Mbps Full Duplex if it shows differently.

You may actually try to configure your QoS with a speed that is above what you expect from your ISP. This sometimes provides a smoother experience than having no QoS or prioritized devices.

  @Bertu

Another thing to try is replacing the ethernet cable. 100 uses four wires and faster requires eight wires connected. Your cable or connecter may be going bad.

  @Bertu It was motherboard lan card fault and not the router.
Sorry for making you losing time, and thank you.

  @ArcherC8 yes it was that, the cable.
