Model: RE815XE
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20230208 Rel. 090204

I have an Archer AXE95/AXE7800 router, and just purchased an RE815XE since it purportedly supports OneMesh. I have an ethernet cable running from my router to my range extender (RE), and the RE is in Access Point (AP) mode.

Despite the marketing describing both devices as supporting OneMesh, apparently OneMesh doesn't work when the RE is in AP mode...

I found the following threads on this forum:

- https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/269850

- https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/636954?sortDir=ASC

So it would appear that there is Beta firmware for the Archer AX55 to support OneMesh (or maybe EasyMesh?) in AP mode. When will there be firmware updates available to support my use case (AXE95 router, RE815XE in WiFi mode, OneMesh network)?

  @Brandon_T

Hi, welcome to the community.

EasyMesh over Ethernet Backhaul needs the support on both the host router and the range extender.

As far as I know, RE315 would be the first range extender to support EasyMesh over Etherent Backhaul. I am afraid it might still take a while before Archer AXE95 and RE815X add the same feature.

Thank you very much and best regards.
