Hello,

I've been assigned a static IP address from my ISP, but wanted to use an outside VPN service that supports port forwarding to access devices internal to my network.

For example, a camera with an internal address of 192.168.0.235 would use an external port 8235 to redirect to that internal IP address. Accessing via the usual static IP address would simply use <my static IP>:8235.  I'd like to use a commercial VPN server instead to access specific internal devices via <assigned VPN IP>:8235.

I've successfully accessed my devices using the public/visible static IP address, and recently signed up with PureVPN (with the port forwarding add-on) in an attempt to do the latter. But I can't get the VPN method to work.

PureVPN has three servers that allow port forwarding, and their client interface allows me to choose which ports to open. I've done that and configured the VPN Client settings in the router to work with those servers. Additionally, I've added the devices of interest to the router list and enabled everything.

However, I can't get this to work. It may be an issue with PureVPN's servers, but I am wondering if there is another step I need to take in the router configuration to allow the ports to be forwarded to my devices.

Thank you,

kwc
