I have had a discussion with their support desk.

They say it's a problem between your provider and the cloud services (Amazon) which is used.

Therefore I should contact my provider....

Part of the data should not come through to the cloud environment and that's why the list is not updated correctly.

Their advice was to clone your MAC adress in the Deco app so a 'new route / account' is created on the cloud and that should fix it.

For me it didn't...

I mentioned that's their product that is failing so they should contact the provider (Ziggo). Answer TP-Link: they are ignoring/ not acknowledging the problem so they don't help to investigate.

Because of that I don't think they will start an investigation when I call them hahaha. I will write an review that this product isn't working properly for Ziggo (one of the biggest providers in the Netherlands) so users should look to a different brand..

@Mudslideyo same issue with my deco x60. I reboot and the client list updates. Then shortly after it stops updating. This is incredibly annoying.

@Mudslideyo Same for me with the X55, since forever. Now is still showing devices that are offline since yesterday. Unbelievable.

Also writing everywhere that, at least the X55 should be avoided.

People say This beta build fixes it but it is not available for mine (v1.2) https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/674472?sortDir=ASC&page=1

same issue here, Deco X10.

tip: do not rename your devices 1 by 1 to identify them in the deco app.

once you reboot, their names will come back :(

some information that is hopefully helpful to TP-Link / others.

My setup is an X10 (main) and 3 old E4 units.

i found that the problem lies when the E4 units are connected. hence if you guys turn off all extension units and keep the main one running, your online clients should update after some refreshes.

i am fortunate enough that all other devices in my network can still reach the X10 - so my client list can still update "live" when i do this.

it then seems that if i want to do all other features given by TP-Link like parental controls, blocking, etc. it has to be done with only the main deco running, which of course kills the entire reason we went with a mesh network + features.

i haven't tried making one of my E4s as the main to see if it prevents the issue, but that again kills the entire reason of having the beefier X10 as my main, and it wouldn't support the better features.

TP-Link needs to release a firmware update to fix this.

edit: I tried maining an E4 device - now the online clients update fine (after a few refreshes). however, this limits my interrnet to 100MB. but this means the firmware of the E4 has better coding in terms of the online clients vs. the newer X series.

also the part where you want to control where a device connects to - that works too here. the number of connected clients per node also works...
