BE63 Constant Issues
So I have a Deco BE63 and I'm having some issues. Latest firmware is on it and what's going on is a complete loss of connection. It's random it can happen at any time and I have checked everything and also had my ISP take a look to make sure it's not on there end. They came out and checked and everything is normal all speeds are normal all wiring is new they even replaced my Ethernet going from my ONT to the deco just to be on the safe side. Problem is still occurring. I also have tried running the BE63 in AP mode and while that stopped the Ethernet drop off there is also another bug where in AP mode I am only getting half my speeds on the download side. The upload is fine. But as soon as I put the BE63 back in router mode the speeds goes back to normal. I even tried hooking my old Orbi system back up and ran that for a few days. I had no random disconnections at all. I'm at wits end trying to figure this out. Someone had mentioned this was a known problem with HW version 1.6 and the newest HW version fixed the connection issues. Any truth to that?
thanks

I too am having constant issues with BE63.
Starting configuration (having issues):
Xfinity XB8 (2.5 Gb port) cable modem in bridge mode --> MAIN be63 in router mode via Cat 6 cable --> TPLink 2.5 GB 8 port switch via Cat 6 --> OFFICE be63 satellite access point and BEDROOM be63 satelite access point, both hardwired with cat5e
Tried a bunch of configurations, including putting TP Link router between cable modem and be63 or switch.
The configuration that SEEMS to be working is:
Xfinity XB8 (2.5 Gb port) cable modem in gateway mode (modem + router) with wifi bands disabled --> TPLink 2.5 GB 8 port switch via Cat 6 --> MAIN be63 (access point mode), OFFICE be63 satellite access point and BEDROOM be63 satelite access point, all hardwired with cat5e.
So I lose a lot of router admin functionality (e.g. changing DNS servers...xinfity doesn't allow for any other DNS servers) but connections SEEM to be more stable.
NET-NET: Based on my experience and a TON of posts about Decos in general (not just be63), I would NOT buy Decos (or TPLink) hardware again.

I'm having those problems too in 2025 the most recent update did help a lot but still happens just not as often like it was before. where it was happening every day. I just wish I would of got the newer version. I have contacted deco support but getting them to actually help you with a solution is like pulling teeth because they'll make you do all these troubleshooting things that you've already told them that you've tried and then once all the things that they make you do don't work they will forward you to the engineer and then the engineer goes and makes you do the things that you already said doesn't work and so after going back and forth for 2,3 weeks without any progress or solutions i finally gave up and this happened each time I've asked support for help. And the thing that gets me mad is that the engineer sees that nothing we're trying is working and that they know the be63 V1 has been defective since it's release and they should just RMA V1 and send out Version 2 as the replacement. @icehawk940

I am having the same problem with a BE63 2.6. I just bought them last week from Amazon, and they are connected by ethernet - but randomly I will lose connection. I have calld TP Link for help, and they said they were going to advance my issue to tech support, but then they emailed and said they don't know what to do to fix it and recommended I return the units.
If I do that, I'm getting an eero.
There's no reason why these shouldn't work and I'm tired of not getting an answer.

@rsottney Im having this issue. Purchase 3x BE63 as a package (BE10000 kit). The hardware is version 2.6, as indicated on the bottom. I replaced a *very* stable TP-Link Archer A20 that was the solo router in a ~3400 sqft home. Works well, but a few areas at the extents needed better coverage. I thought the BE63 would be ideal as a mesh to cover the home.
I set up the BE63 as a router directly to my ONT and in PPPoE mode (CenturyLink fiber). Took a bit to configure that, but finally got it working really well. Ran a wireless backhaul (tried both Optimal and high-capacity settings). I would work fine for anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours or overnight, but we would get tons of random WiFi drop outs where the main BE63 router would go down. I couldn't catch the exact pattern of the light on the unit, as it is a bit tucked away in an AV closet, but it looked like it would reboot and the red light would come on. It would eventually all come back, but the random drop outs were frustrating the family immensely.
I tried a bunch of different configurations to find something stable, but I never got there. I'm returning it to Amazon today (~1 week later). I can't bang around with this any more. Too much time sunk into it. I loved the configuration and the speed. The hardware seemed quality, but the buggy drop outs in the WiFi are killing me.
The Archer A20 has been a workhorse for years and I swapped it back and its great. No issues. So now I need to find a new mesh option...

Hi, can I have the current firmware version of the Deco BE63?
I've left a message with a beta firmware for Deco BE63, which might help to improve the network stability.
It is recommended to install the beta firmware here-https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/848116 to see whether it helps or not.
By the way, I saw you mentioned " it looked like it would reboot and the red light would come on. Would its LED turn yellow during the reboot? Do you have any 6G compatible devices, such as the iPhone 17 series?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

@David-TP I reached out to TP-Link support and they provided information on getting firmware updates. That is what I would recommend.

@David-TP To note an answer to your question to JRice from my example No the satellite deco did not flash yellow when rebooting. I could not observe the primary deco light color in previous failures.
Yes I do have 6G compatible devices, iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro and Macbook Pro. If this is potentially related, I did notice at times it seemed as if my movement around my home (likely switching between decos) while using my iPhone 17 Pro would somehow 'trigger' the outage. I was thinking I was crazy (maybe I still am), but it happened enough that it was a 'tin foil' theory I had. A lot of the drops would also occur a lot while I am on a Webex call on my Macbook Pro, not always but fairly frequently.
I believe I have logs from 1.1.7 firmware on my BE63, where I tried to snag them shortly after an issue; unsure if they contain useful info for your team.
I am up and running on firmware 1.2.0_build_20251103_Beta - will report back in 24 hours. This problem has been pervasive enough to disrupt my ability to work from home, so I'll know tomorrow if it's fixed :) Cheers!
