Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.2.1

Hi team!  I purchased this router a couple of years ago when it was TP's top home router.  The Archer AX21 works great, but I have a huge issue that I need some help.  I had a cable modem and just switched to fiber to the home yesterday. When I connect to the gateway (let's just go with the fiber numbers, but the issue was the same with coax) I receive 600M+ both up and down.  I have a printer on the network so I have to use a router.  When I connect to this router, I am receiving 175M/100M.  I have changed settings on the router (based on info from another forum) to improve to those numbers.  There are only 3 of us in the home.  When I count the smart devices (TVs, Next, Mini, phones, laptops, etc) there are 13 and more than half stay mostly idle.  I need a solution for the router settings (assuming that is the issue) that will allow me to connect to the router and not lose 70-75% of my bandwidth.  I thought the TP-Link forum should be where I seek advice.  Can anyone help?

Did you mean to reply with a solution?

Place the gateway in bridge mode and the router in router mode. Be sure to use good cables. May need to try different firewall settings. In most cases, do not use QoS. Use different ssids.

AT&T gateway has an Allocation Mode which is set to "Passthrough".  The other options are "Off" and "Default Server". There was no setting on any page for "Bridge".

For the router, Operations Mode is set to "Wireless Router Mode".  The router Internet Connection Type is "Dynamic IP"

QoS is not enabled.

These were the settings, so I changed nothing.  Given 400M-600M bandwidth has been delivered on a cable modem and this gateway, the issue must be in the router.  For the life of me, I can't imagine a single radio button or drop-down cutting the bandwidth in half.

Any other suggestions?

If you are using Smart Connect, turn it off and set up two different SSIDs. That way you can control which devices are on each network.

Show SSID, do not hide.

If you are using a VPN, try turning it off as that can reduce your speed. That is one of the costs for using a VPN.

Set up IPv6 and use it.
