Firmware Version:

I recently purchased the TBE550E and I'm running the 2025-01-24 driver.  I'm really happy with it so far and it's super fast and has been rock solid in terms of connectivity and reliabilty, just like the many TP-Link PCIe adapters I have used previously.

I have a couple of observations & questions:

  • I don't really need it, but the LED light doesn't seem to work.  It goes from breathing to static, but never goes to spectrum despite being connected at 320Mhz
  • I'm able to connect to my UniFi Dream Machine Pro / U7-Pro networking gear on 6Ghz at 5760 Mbps, which is awesome!
  • I'm unable to connect via MLO, however.  My laptop with an Intel BE200 chip and my Pixel 9 Pro both connect on 5+6Ghz, but I can't connect to 2.4+5Ghz or 2.4+6Ghz with the TBE550E.
  • I assume 5+6Ghz is coming in a later driver release?  There's no historical data or release notes that I can find, so I'm not sure if it's already there and they just added to the other MLMRs, or if it's a future capabilty.  5760 Mbps is way faster than either of my Internet connections, so I'm just asking out of curiosity :)

@IanA Yes they are still working with this driver, the adapter has not been certified yet so expect some more improvements to be coming along. I get MLO on mine usually it is 2.4&5.  The Intel chips seem to be working better, but as I said they are not done working on improving te 550.
